Well...what a crazy week (in a good way). Man this transfer is
just whizzing by...days seriously seem like hours at the time. It's kinda
freaking me out...
Okay just so you know last night it sort of hit me..."You
have 10 days left.." So now I'm all wired and crazy. I have so many
emotions/feelings/etc that I don't even know what to say or do. haha. And I
feel like it still hasn't hit me entirely. Yikes.
But I think the one feeling I feel more consistently is one of
gratitude. i'm so so so so so so so so so so so grateful that God let me have
this opportunity to be here. I seriously don't think I'll ever be able to thank
Him enough. And I just love it here in Toronto... actually I've loved all my areas. I just feel
so blessed and I just feel inadequate for all the miracles that I've been able
to witness.
Okay well highlight of the
week:
(INVESTIGATOR) GOT BAPTIZED!!!!!!!!!!
Happy happy HAPPY day.
I love her....she is the cutest young woman ever. Apparently
it's taken her a while to finally say "yes" to baptism (I just came
when the time was right for her) But I respect the fact that she took baptism
seriously...and she wanted to feel ready for it.
The program was great. It was a little stressful setting up (ie
our church is two stories and the baptism font is on the second floor and so we
were trying to get the television to the second floor but the elevator broke so
we had to have the elders manually carry it up the stairs....) But it worked
out. The young women/men were all there to support her as well as a lot of the
ward. Her young woman leader was so involved in her conversion and it was neat
because her husband baptized her...and he never has baptized anyone before. So it was a meaningful experience for everyone.
Her member mom was all smiles...it was so cute to
look over and just see her beaming a mile wide. And her father who isn't
baptized said the closing prayer.
Families are forever! :)
(Investigator) ended up in the hospital again last week...I'm not kidding.
:*( But they are trying to figure out what's
going on. but I feel like he's getting better...remember when I said that he
looked so frail when I first saw him? He's beginning to look more like himself...so that's a relief.
Man there's so many miracles and so little time. I could write a
book about everything....
Well I'll share a few experiences. First our zone leaders issued
a "fire challenge" for our zone meaning we had all these challenges
that could pump us up that we were to complete....one of them was giving 5 Book
of Mormons in one day...we were super busy...but we wanted to complete the
goal...so we were sharing the Book of Mormon with EVERYONE...
There was one man on the bus that I wanted to share the Book of Mormon with. I gave it to him and he accepted....as we talked more and
more....I showed him the pictures in the front...But then..he gave it back to
me and said he didn't want it. I was heartbroken. Not that I wasn't going to
complete the goal but just because I felt the spirit and I was sharing
something so meaningful to me but someone wouldn't even give it a chance...and
he was mean about it too....
We were going home and we were in the elevator and there was
this young pregnant mother...and all of a sudden she explained how she's been
looking for a church to go to for her children and to raise her newborn child
in....We followed her off her floor and talked a little bit...and she was so
excited to have...a Book of Mormon....She was so excited to meet with us.
It just shows me that the Lord places elect people in our path
for a reason. And if I had given that Book of Mormon away beforehand..we
wouldn't have been able to give her one because I would have been out.
Other story is we had this investigator from
Grenada that we were teaching. But the last two weeks we had NO CONTACT. She
bombed an appointment and didn't answer our phone calls. We were visiting a
recent convert in her building but the recent convert was running late from a
previous appointment...so we decided to just drop by....Turns out she didn't know what our telephone number was so she thought we were
telemarketers. And she wanted to come to church and meet with us still....and
SHE DID COME TO CHURCH YESTERDAY!!!!! She loved it. It was great to see her
there. She has to make a lot of changes in her life....but she is making
them one step at a time...she has changed so much in the course of these last 6
weeks...it's amazing.
Last thing is we picked up a new investigator. We met
her my first day in Weston on the street. We weren't able to see her until last
week. When we visited she just started crying telling us how she needs Christ more in her life...especially
after the passing of her mom. She is so lonely...it broke my heart to see
her...But I remember just testifying of how God was aware of her...and that she would be able to find peace
in this difficult time...She told us she wants to come to church next sunday.
I'm so excited! She is a sweetheart.
Anyways I'm so grateful for the people that God places in our paths. They are
special. I know that He wants to help them. I know He answers their prayers. He
has answered a lot of my prayers lately...and I just feel so humbled that He
did that. He doesn't have to answer our prayers....but he does because he loves
us...maybe not in the ways we expect but it's always for our good.
I love you all. I hope you know that I have been trying to give
it my all to the Lord...and i am going to try to just give it my all this next
week. Why? Because i love this gospel...I love my Savior Jesus Christ...I love my Heavenly
Father....and I love you...
